Orange and the Consortium Stade de France presented a contactless-mobile spectator journey at the Stade de France, trialled on 5 May 2012 during the Top 14 rugby match between Racing Métro 92 and Stade Français Paris. Using NFC handsets, testers were guided from the car park to the entrance and back to their vehicle, passed access control with a dematerialised ticket held in the SIM, found their seat, received match information and took part in exclusive interactions — votes, quizzes and a lottery. Tickets were reserved and loaded beforehand through a dedicated web application, which also issued a PDF voucher for parking.
The release frames the work as an innovation programme run by the Stade de France with Orange Business and the support of Orange Labs, positioning contactless technology as the basis for ticketing, payment, geolocation, information delivery and voting inside a venue.
