| Relevance | The “Mes Comptes” iPad application was delivered by Clicmobile, where Riad Lemhachheche was Technical Director. |
BNP Paribas became the first bank on the iPad App Store, offering clients a free download of the “Mes Comptes” application. From the tablet's arrival in France, clients could manage their accounts on it. The release places the launch inside the internet and mobile accelerator programme the bank had started the previous year, with the stated aim of leading online banking by 2012.
In the application, clients could consult accounts, make transfers, follow the markets, run mortgage, consumer-credit and car-credit simulations, use a savings comparator (PEL, CEL, LDD, Livret A, Compte épargne), request contact with a specialist savings adviser within 48 hours by email or callback, and reach the whole of bnpparibas.net. Opening an account at La NET Agence, the bank's then-new internet branch, was possible from the iPad as well.
The release positions the app as a continuation of the bank's iPhone and Android services: a new version of the bnpparibas.net site for iPhone had launched in November 2009 and passed a million uses, a Private Bank version followed, and BNP Paribas had been the first French bank in the App Store in April 2009 with the free “les bons comptes à Z€ro” app, downloaded more than 60,000 times. An augmented-reality app, “Spot”, showed nearby branches and cash machines through the phone's camera.
“En moins de six mois, la fréquentation du site BNPPARIBAS.NET sur mobile a quadruplé.”
